Geology Field Trip – Gara Mountain Geli Spindar, Duhok Area.

Today 13th of May, second-year geology students conducted a field trip to the Geli Spindare in Duhok Area to study the basics of stratigraphy. The trip focused on understanding the laws of superposition, original horizontality, and lateral continuity, as well as analyzing the physical properties of rock units, different bed thicknesses, and unconformity contacts in the field.

The fieldwork provided an excellent opportunity to connect theoretical concepts with practical geological observations and enhance students’ field skills and geological understanding.
