Vision

The Computer Science Department at the University of Duhok was founded in 1999 as a teaching department to provide quality education in Computer Science. It is designed to equip students with the fundamental understanding and practical skills needed by future leaders in computing and related professions. Students will develop a sound knowledge of the computer system, software design, and computer applications throughout the study. They will also gain practical problem-solving and program design skills.

The department offers B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees. The majority of subjects within the courses are linked with practical work in well-equipped laboratories. The department is also involved in various research activities such as machine learning, data science, virtual reality, database, networking, image and signal processing, and pattern recognition.
