- To promote academic and scientific research at Duhok University at new levels.
- Transfer of these techniques to other Colleges at our University and other Kurdistan region universities.
- Transfer of these technologies to serve Kurdistan Community and the countries.
- Training graduate and undergraduate students on biotechnology techniques, molecular biology, genetic engineering, medical biotechnology and plant tissue culture as well as in animal biotechnology domains.
- Application of biotechnology developed at SRC in solving agricultural, medical and biological problems by conducting research in these fields through M. Sc. and Ph. D. projects.
- Encouragement of SRC staff members to write and publish high quality research papers eligible for publication in local and international journals
