Justification: The improper disposal of medications has become an urgent issue, drawing increased attention from healthcare professionals and consumers alike. Pharmacists, as trusted healthcare providers, can play a pivotal role in raising awareness and promoting safe medication disposal practices. Through proper patient counseling, pharmacists can significantly contribute to improving public health and safeguarding the environment. Understanding and promoting the correct methods of disposing unused or expired medications are as crucial as understanding how to properly consume them.

Objectives: This proposal is designed to foster awareness, create collaboration, and offer solutions for safe medication disposal:

Promote Scientific Cooperation:

- This workshop will foster collaboration among students, academics, and healthcare professionals at the University of Duhok to address the pressing issue of pharmaceutical waste.

Raise Awareness and Provide Solutions:

- By highlighting the risks of improper disposal and offering practical solutions, the workshop aims to inspire action among participants. This initiative, the first of its kind in the region, holds the potential to significantly impact public health and environmental protection.
