My research primarily focuses on three main areas:

  1. Photochromism and Photochemistry of Chalcone Compounds – I investigate the photochromic behavior of chalcones and the synthesis of novel dye-based organic chromenes formed upon UV irradiation of chalcones. My work involves a detailed comparison and correlation between experimental and theoretical results to characterize both chalcone and chromene systems.
  2. Electroplating in Ionic Liquids and Deep Eutectic Solvents –I explored the electroplating of zinc, tin, and zinc/tin-based alloys using various ionic liquids and deep eutectic solvents, focusing on optimizing deposition conditions and understanding the electrochemical mechanisms involved.
  3. Development of Sustainable Biocomposites – I have also worked on optimizing the composition of medium-density fibreboard (MDF) to create biodegradable and cost-effective alternatives. The goal of this research is to produce environmentally friendly biocomposites that are recyclable and more sustainable compared to conventional MDF materials

Generally undergraduate research students in different topics of physical chemistry
